The 2001 Blackstone Zinfandel is lively with fresh fruit aromas of apricot and berry, followed by intense flavors of both fresh and stewed fruit. Distinctive spice and black pepper awaken the palate. A robust mouthfeel is complemented by wellbalanced texture and structure. This spirited wine stands up to marinated and grilled meats and seasoned entrée such as veal with peppercorns and pork with peach and ginger sauce, as well as pastas and spicy dishes.
