Jaffa Wines reaches for La Lune
Cape Jaffa Wines releases its biodynamic wine range La Lune
MOUNT BENSON – 29 July 2008: Mount Benson’s
founding winery and pioneer in biodynamic winegrowing on the
Limestone Coast Cape Jaffa Wines (www.capejaffawines.com.au)
has released its first certified biodynamic wines under the
new La Lune range.
Named after the moon, a powerful governing force in biodynamic
vineyard management, the La Lune range of wines will celebrate
with each vintage parcels of fruit which display exceptional
varietal expression and terroir. Certified by Australian Certified
Organic (ACO), each bottle of La Lune features ACO’s
certified biodynamic bug logo on its label, an unbleached
100% cotton twill weave material produced with fewer chemicals
than a paper label. This type of cotton label is a first for
the Australian wine industry.
At this stage production is limited to 10 barriques, equating
to 250 cases, of each variety per vintage.
“Releasing
these new certified wines is the culmination of years of hard
work and commitment to biodynamic growing,” says general
manager Derek Hooper. “To have a national certifying
body such as ACO recognise the work we’ve put in to
produce a certifiable wine is a great achievement for a winery
of our size.”
Distribution of the wines will begin through select retailers
in South Australia with specialty stores in the eastern states
also receiving small allotments over the next twelve months.
Consumers will also be able to purchase the wines online through
Cape Jaffa’s new online shopping cart facilities at
their website www.capejaffawines.com.au.
This release follows the recent biodynamic certification of
Cape Jaffa Wines’ 25-hectare vineyard located in Mount
Benson on the Limestone Coast.
